Bhutan defeated Maldives by 2-1 goals on Thursday under the 13th South Asian Games at Dasarath Stadium. This is the first time Bhutan defeated the Maldives at any level of football. This win has led Bhutan to the top of the table of the tournament. Bhutan has six points from three games. The Maldives, however, was limited to two points from the same three games. This score has increased the probability of Bhutan to play the final match but Maldives will have to effort extremely hard to remain in the finals.
Bhutan led the Thursday match against Maldives after Chhimmi Dorjee scored first goal at the 55 minutes of the match. Bhutan recorded second goal with the help of Fub Thinle at the 84th minute.
At the ending moment, though Hamja Mohamed scored 1 goal for Maldives, the team could not defeat Bhutan.
Srilanka lost to Bangladesh
In the second match held between Bangladesh and Srilanka, Bangladesh defeated Srilanka by 1-0 goal. Bangladeshi footballer Mahabbur Rahaman registered first fial at the 10 minute of the match. With today’s victory, Bangaldesh is in third position of the score table. It has scored 4 points from three games.
Untill now, Nepal is also at the second position in the table with 4 points whereas Srilanka has only 2 points.
